The Armstrong ArmaCoil Standard Installation Tool is a low cost prewinder tool designed 
for basic thread repair as well as low volume production. 

This tool comes with the Armstrong ArmaCoil Standard Thread Repair Kit and features a 
threaded mandrel. When the mandrel is used together with the prewinder in the tool 
body, incidents of cross threading during ArmaCoil insert installation are minimised. 

A dedicated single size installation tool which supports the ArmaCoil insert in a 
chamber ready for pre-winding through the nozzle. Pre-winding reduces the ArmaCoil
insert diameter to that of the tapped hole, ready for installation.


With the ArmaCoil insert wound flush with the end of the nozzle, the ArmaCoil
insert is ready for installation. Place the Armstrong ArmaCoil Prewinder Installation Tool 
squarely over the tapped hole and wind the ArmaCoil into the component. Do not apply 
any forward pressure during installation as this may cause the ArmaCoil insert to 
‘cross pitch’.

The ArmaCoil T-Bar Inserting Tool is a threaded mandrel tool used for the installation 
of RD (reduced diameter) ArmaCoil inserts without the need to pre-wind the ArmaCoil.

The added benefit offered with the threaded mandrel is that the ArmaCoil insert can be
installed without the fear of ‘cross pitching’, which is a common problem encountered 
during installation of fine pitched ArmaCoil inserts.


The RD insert is manufactured slightly larger than the tapped hole. The nose radius on 
the tang of the ArmaCoil insert allows the first coil to engage with the top of the tapped 
hole, providing the additional pre-winding needed for installation of the ArmaCoil.

Armstrong ArmaCoil Manual Installation Tools

The Armstrong ArmaCoil Universal Inserting Tool can be fitted with a range of 
interchangeable nozzles and mandrels, giving this tool the versatility needed for a 
maintenance or garage thread repair kit. 


The mandrels screw into the extension bar and the nozzles locate in the
body, with a retaining nut securing them in place.


These tools are available in sizes from M5 to M12 and No.10 to 1/2” Unified.

The Armstrong ArmaCoil Slimline Installation Tool has been developed to overcome the 
problems of small inserts installed in confined spaces or close up to flanges. The tool 
body, at 6.0mm diameter, allows the designer greater flexibility in the position of tapped 
holes, especially when space is at a premium.


The ArmaCoil Slimlime Installation Tool is produced with a threaded mandrel, which 
ensures that the ArmaCoil insert is always installed correctly without cross threading. 


The ArmaCoil Slimlime Installation Tool is available in sizes up to M4 or 6-32UNC.
