Armstrong ArmaCoil Electric & Pneumatic Power Tools
ArmaCoil Electric & Pneumatic Power Tools are specially designed for use in high volume production. The advantages of using ArmaCoil
Power Tools lie not only in their speed of operation but also in their accuracy and precision during ArmaCoil insert installation. They can
thus minimise production costs by dramatically reducing the installation time needed for large quantities of ArmaCoil wire thread inserts.
The ArmaCoil Pneumatic Power Tool can be used either hand held, or in conjunction with
a Power Tool Holder. The tool's threaded mandrel system eliminates the possibility of
cross threading or jamming of the ArmaCoil wire insert during installation as the insert is
pitch controlled as it moves from the tool to the workpiece via the threaded mandrel. This
ensures a precise assembly, each and every time.
The ArmaCoil Pneumatic Power Tool comprises of:
Reversible air motor
Adaptor
Front end assembly (prewinder, mandrel assembly, and spacer sets)
About ArmaCoil Power Tools
ArmaCoil Pneumatic Power Tool
ArmaCoil Electric Power Tool
The Armstrong ArmaCoil Electric Power Tool is a fully automatic tool with forward and reverse
motions in a single lever action. The tool is lightweight and low in noise when in use.
Two sizes of tools are available, large and small, and both are operated from the same power
control unit. The unit is operated from a 240V AC mains supply, transformed down to
24V DC. This makes the Armstrong ArmaCoil Electric Power Tool an extremely safe and
versatile tool, capable of being used anywhere with a mains electricity supply.

The Armstrong ArmaCoil Power Tool Holder is a robust and versatile tool holder that positions
the ArmaCoil Pneumatic Power Tool vertically to the work piece. It can be mounted on a
substantial base that can be bolted or clamped to the workbench, to create a compact
workstation.
The ArmaCoil Power Tool Holder's twin pivoting arms have a total swept radius of 40mm to
670mm. Maximum adjustments on the main pillar can accommodate components up to
500mm high.
A regulator and gauge is mounted on the unit to control the outgoing air pressure to the
power tool. It is recommended that an air filter and lubricator is fitted to the air supply.
To complete the features of the ArmaCoil Power Tool Holder, one of the pivoting arms is
fitted with a reel mounting boss. This will hold the ArmaCoil tape feed inserts securely
and allow the tape and ArmaCoil inserts to pass neatly to the prewinder of the pneumatic
power tool prior to installation.
For even greater productivity, Armstrong ArmaCoil inserts can be supplied in reels of plastic
tape. ArmaCoil Tape Feed Inserts eliminate the handling problems encountered with small
inserts, in particular untangling or manual positioning of the insert prior to installation, as the
Armstrong ArmaCoil inserts are held securely in the plastic tape and neatly coiled into reels.
The plastic tape feeds directly into the chamber of the prewinder of the Armstrong ArmaCoil
power tool, positioning the ArmaCoil insert in a ready position for installation, each and every
time. As there is no handling of the ArmaCoil inserts by hand, there is no danger of spillage
or loss of inserts as what can happen with bulk ArmaCoil inserts.

Reversible Air Motor
Forward and reverse motions are controlled by a lever and button operation. Two motor
speeds are available.
Spacer Sets
Each size assembly requires a Spacer Set. This enables the ArmaCoil Pneumatic Power Tool
to be set to install various lengths of a particular thread size.
Mandrel Assembly
The mandrel assembly is specific to each thread size. The threaded mandrel ensures correct
pitch feed of the ArmaCoil insert during installation, thus eliminating the possibility of
cross threading or jamming.
Prewinder
Each prewinder is specific to a single thread size and its function is to receive the ArmaCoil
insert prior to insertion. During installation, the diameter of the ArmaCoil insert is reduced
as it passes through the prewinder, making it enter the ArmaCoil tapped hole easily.
Adaptor
The adaptor is specially designed to connect the prewinder to the air motor and to
house the drive and clutch mechanism of the threaded mandrel.
